Taiyabah Masjid was one of the first to establish itself in Bolton, residing on Canning Street between 1967-1988.
In 1988 the Masjid purchased the former Congregational Sunday School that primarily faces onto Blackburn Road. The Masjid has since been operating out of these premises which include an entrance off Draycott Street. Other parts of the Islamic Centre are used regularly for Islamic education of boys and girls of all ages.
In the year 2009, the Masjid purchased the adjoining site (former Empire Direct and Esso garage) to allow for future development. The community carefully considered the possibilities and opportunities for this development and concluded that a replacement of their existing facility will offer themselves sustainable long term and fit for purpose accommodation.
Over the past 18 months, a number of drawings have been presented by various architects and after close consultation with the community a final design & plan was chosen and subsequently submitted for approval. The plan was approved on 03rd July 2014 and over the coming weeks and months, the project team will be looking at ways to generate the necessary funds to start the construction stage.
